Our stay at Ryokan Murayama was delightful! The Japanese-style room was spacious and beautifully decorated with tatami flooring and comfortable futon beds. The staff were super friendly and provided excellent service, including a complimentary shuttle to and from the station. The highlight was the traditional meals, especially the Kaiseki dinner which was both delicious and beautifully presented.

A cozy stay with charm
We were welcomed with fragrant tea and traditional sweets. The onsen was a treat, offering a unique and relaxing experience after a day of exploration. Truly delightful!
However, the walk back uphill after dinner was quite strenuous, especially after indulging in the delicious kaiseki meal. A shuttle would have been a convenience.

Ryokan Murayama is a gem in Takayama, with authentic traditional meals that dance on your taste buds—definitely try the local delicacies! Plus, the cozy onsen made for a perfect evening ritual! 🌄
If I had to critique, the wifi felt like dial-up from the '90s—super slow! Not a dealbreaker, but just a heads up. The shuttle service could use a bit more flexibility too.

Ryokan Murayama offers a lovely stay with its authentic atmosphere. The room felt traditional yet spacious, perfect for unwinding. I appreciated the comfy futon, making it easy to sleep well. The onsen was a highlight. cozy and calming, it provided a nice escape each evening. The traditional meals were phenomenal—every bite was like a taste of Japan! The staff radiated friendliness, always ready to help. Just a small hiccup. the wifi connection felt quite slow, like something from the past. The shuttle service could be more flexible, making it easier to get to the city instead of strictly following a schedule. Overall, this ryokan embodies the charm of Japan, with a mix of traditional comfort and attention to detail.

Private onsen, spacious rooms, charming neighborhood
Facilities feel outdated!!! The onsen hours are quite limiting, and dining options nearby should be expanded!!! The wooden floors in the room could definitely use replacement!!!

Staying in a traditional Japanese guest house was a unique experience, with the spacious family room providing a comfortable retreat. The staff were incredibly accommodating, even arranging a last-minute traditional dinner, which was exceptional. The meals were beautifully presented, and the homemade ice cream was a delightful treat. Although the location is slightly removed from the station, a short cab ride makes it convenient.
